Summer Palace, Island Shangri-La: Top Dim Sum Restaurant in Hong Kong

Summer Palace at Island Shangri-La is considered by the locals to be one of the best dimsum restaurants in Hong Kong. This place also has 2 Michelin stars awarded as well. Probably easily inferred from the high prices for your normal dimsum dishes. I couldn't believe that shrimp dumplings (4pcs) could set me back at HKD$80, when most restaurants only price it at HKD$28 (and even cheaper when you go for tea time and breakfast). But I guess the locals know the quality of dimsum best to justify paying such a high premium for the fare.

Their crispy charsiew pork buns are of course, way more expensive than those sold at Tim Ho Wan. However, the affluent and busy wouldn't be waiting in line for the more affordable fare.

Despite visiting Hong Kong often, it was the first time I tried the sago pudding. Perhaps it's only served in higher end restaurants? It's pretty good though. It tasted a lot like light custard mixed with sago.
